Yoga of Rest
Yin & Restorative Yoga, Aromatic Scent, and Live Music with Steve Gorn
Saturday, October 24th | 2:30–4:30pm | $60
Some rest asks nothing of you but to arrive. This is that kind of afternoon.
As you settle into each long-held Yin and Restorative pose — supported, unhurried, held by bolsters and blankets — the room fills with the live, breathing sound of Steve Gorn's bamboo flute. A Grammy-winning musician whose six-decade journey moves through jazz, Indian classical music, and Nada Yoga, Steve doesn't perform at the practice — he moves with it, his phrasing rising and falling with the stillness in the room.
Layered through it all, aromatic scent threads its way into the practice — grounding, calming notes chosen to meet the body exactly where rest wants to happen. Scent has a way of reaching the nervous system before the mind catches up, and paired with sound and stillness, it becomes another doorway into deep, unguarded rest.
Guided by Camellia Lee, LMT and BCST with nearly two decades in bodywork and clinical aromatherapy, and Alex Tse, LMT and Reiki + Sound practitioner, this is a practice for the whole sensory body — touch, breath, scent, and sound, all moving in the same slow direction.
